Join me as I attend Mackey's Korner in San Francisco, California. I had the privilege and honor to speak at a celebration of life for Jamal Mackey, a 12 year old boy gone too soon from suicide. Jamal's grandmother, Lynette Mackey put on a huge block party to celebrate his beautiful and soulful life; ranging from food vendors to musicians and suicide prevention organizations, Mackey's Korner could be heard from neighboring streets in the Civic center. Placed in the heart of San Francisco's city hall, Lynette had the attention of the SFPD, the mayor and all those who attended to discuss healing, hope and recovery. It was an exceptional day of tears, laughter and progress in the fight for suicide prevention.
