ABOUT US
Mackey’s Korner began serving the public in 2021 and is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization.
After the tragic loss of her grandson, Jamahl Mackey Jr., to suicide in 2021, Lynette turned her grief into a powerful mission. She founded Mackey's Korner, a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing suicide through public awareness and education. With unwavering determination, Lynette has become a tireless advocate for mental health, reaching out to schools, churches, and special awareness events to promote candid discussions that dismantle the walls of silence and stigma surrounding suicide. Her unwavering commitment is touching countless lives and making a lasting impact on her community.
Our mission is to save lives, restore hope, and strengthen communities through education, prevention, and compassionate care. We provide peer-led suicide awareness workshops, youth and adult support circles, crisis response education, and community events that promote connection, resilience, and wellness. Our work is grounded in trauma-informed practice, cultural humility, and the belief that healing is both individual and collective.
Mackey’s Korner serves as a safe space where people are seen, heard, and supported without judgment. By partnering with local schools, community organizations, health agencies, and families, we work to ensure that mental health resources are accessible, relevant, and rooted in the realities of those most impacted by mental health disparities.
At our core, Mackey’s Korner is about love, healing, and accountability to the community. We are committed to breaking cycles of silence around suicide and mental health, empowering individuals with tools for survival and growth, and building a future where every person knows they matter and that help is always within reach.
