Born in San Francisco in 1959, Lynette has been a beacon of love, compassion, and community devotion throughout her life. A beloved figure in the Fillmore community, she has dedicated her life to be of service to others. 

Lynette's passion for community engagement has been an enduring thread in her life. She's actively participated in community initiatives for countless years, consistently demonstrating her commitment to uplifting and nurturing those around her.

However, life took an unexpected turn when she experienced the heart-wrenching loss of her beloved grandson—Jamahl Mackey Jr. This painful event compelled her to confront the hushed and often stigmatized issue of suicide. It became a deeply personal mission for her to transform this silence into an open conversation. Moreover, in the  aftermath of the loss of her beloved grandson, she created Mackey’s Korner; a non-profit organization that strives to prevent suicide through public awareness and education

With unwavering determination, Lynette has embarked on a journey to raise awareness about mental health and suicide, touching the lives of many. Her efforts extend into schools, churches, and special awareness events, where she passionately advocates for candid discussions that break down the barriers of silence and stigma.
