However, life took an unexpected turn when she experienced the heart-wrenching loss of her beloved grandson—Jamahl Mackey Jr. This painful event compelled her to confront the hushed and often stigmatized issue of suicide. It became a deeply personal mission for her to transform this silence into an open conversation. Moreover, in the aftermath of the loss of her beloved grandson, she created Mackey’s Korner; a non-profit organization that strives to prevent suicide through public awareness and education
